Best Cruise Company

Well it is January again and this is a peak time for booking holidays. As I have already written we are off around the Mediterranean with P&O cruises this year. Over the last few years we have sailed with three cruise companies and I thought it would interesting to approach each as an independent.

In other words do other reviews share my views when it comes to what is the best Cruise company. I was actually quite shocked to see that Thomson Cruise Ships consistently seem to do very well. My own view is that P&O are the best but based on reviews I think we will have to at least try Thomson for our next cruise.

For example on Review Centre there are 12 reviews for the Thomson Celebration and their review score is 4.4/5. Going through these reviews they all look genuine. Here are some extracts:-

I cannot fault the ship, the food was great in the main restaurant, waiters were very friendly and helpful, had good service throughout. Our cabin staff was simply delightful. The trips were very well organised considering the problems in Eygpt. Overall full marks to all the crew.

Holland America Cruise Line Review

Recently we have returned around Alaska and Canada. It was the first time with Holland America. The food was great so I've no complaints there and the cabins were absolutely fine.

I did not like the automatic charging of tips to your account. It was not so much the money but suspicions that the crew are not getting all of this cash and in fact the service could slip as a result.

Whilst the décor on the main decks were great on arriving at the cabin it became obvious that the ship was not as well maintained as say a P and O ship. It was not dirty, that is too strong a word but it was a little shoddy, repairs had been carried out to the bathroom in the cabin and it was obvious that the person doing the work had rushed it and not bothered to match colours.

This seemed to follow throughout you would see tables left uncleared in the dining area and some parts of the ship were dirty, my mothers cabins window was so dirty she could barely see out of it!

The cost of drinks was very high and then they added a automatic tip on top! I did get the impression that Holland America were trying to milk us rather than look after us.

Do not get me wrong it was not a disgrace far from it but I have experienced better cruises.

Oasis of The Seas Pictures

You cannot beat for PO Cruises but this ship does bring back some happy memories and it is truly huge.

Cruise Review Disney

Been looking around recently at Cruise Reviews for Disney and they generally seem to be really positive. Our friends went a few years back and they really enjoyed it. Overall is was much more relaxed than the likes of PO Cruises.

They stated that they did not have to dress up on formal nights as most passengers on the cruise just went casual every night.

Sounds good to me. This year we are off to Canada but next year Disney looks to be the one.
